Wuhan is pioneering central government’s strategy to develop central China. 20M broadband services have now been introduced, which is the fastest broadband service in China. The service already has over 200,000 customers, which is expected to more than double by the end of this year.
The development of the city requires substantial investment and technical support from various sectors, offering opportunities for UK businesses who can deliver. BBHO’s Miss Nadia Liu has just returned from Wuhan with details of potential projects in various sectors, including infrastructure such as construction of an underground network, highways and bridges; environmental technology support such as sludge treatment, sewage treatment and reform of the ecological environments in natural lakes; development of technologies in alternative energy such as wind and solar power, and construction of shopping malls, conference centres, hotels and car parks. Wuhan will also be engaging companies to set up several shopping malls in different areas in Wuhan.
