Professor John Oakland
Professor Oakland is Executive Chairman of Oakland Consulting plc and Head of its Research and Education Division, the European Centre for Business Excellence.
He holds a Chair in Business Excellence at Leeds University Business School. Over the last twenty years he has consulted in all aspects of business excellence and quality management to literally thousands of organisations. He has directed several large business research projects in Europe, which have brought him into contact with a diverse range of organisations. His work on the requirements of industry, commerce and the public sector has been widely acknowledged and published. He has an international reputation for his work on Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Total Quality Management (TQM).
Oakland Consulting have recently established CarbonReady Ltd (www.carbonready.co.uk) to provide services from carbon footprint assessment to full carbon management. Their unique Carbon Stream Mapping tool to map emmissions through the supply chain allows client to remodel and develop their operations to reduce environmental impact.
Professor Oakland is author of several best selling books, including: Total Organisational Excellence; Total Quality Management (several editions); Statistical Process Control (4th edition) and Production and Operations Management. He has written well over a hundred papers, articles and reports on various topics in these fields.
